The Gifts of Life

Sometimes we the past to stay in the past so that we could move on with the strength and peace that some life experiences can bring. But we find ourselves having to retell stories that we’ve already had to tell hundreds of times. It can feel as though we’re was reopening a book we’ve already read and desperately wanted to close, only to discover it was an art piece that we don’t know what to do with. But that’s when we can learn. Life isn’t a series of books to be closed, it’s a masterpiece that is added upon with each step we take.

Life is a journey taken through the deepest of sorrows to the highest of joys. The pain of finding scars from times barely survived and tears shed for the innocence stolen from children. But we can find hope as we not only learn who we are, but Whose we are! Tears of heartache turn to gratitude as we remember what the Creator has done and continues to do for us. It can be hard to recognize His love for us and even harder to feel it. But when we learn how to, that’s when we find the peace that doesn’t leave even when life gets too hard.

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. …

“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. …

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”-John 14:1, 18, 27.
